Carpentry Services
At Hancin Construction, our carpentry team is a vital part of our construction team. While a construction site requires many different kinds of craftspeople and technicians such as masons, electricians, plumbers, etc., carpenters make up the bulk of our team. In fact, carpentry is one of the oldest construction professions as wood was one of the first building materials. Our carpenters know an amazing amount of techniques for both woodworking and modern day construction. Our team consists of carpenters specializing in the following:
- Space planning
- Electrical planning and layouts
- Lighting planning and layouts
- Floor planning and layouts
- Ceiling detail layouts
Our Carpentry Specialties
With such an extensive amount of expertise on our team, we can do almost anything you can think of if it involves lumber. However our knowledge doesn’t stop at lumber, we can provide much more than that including:
Cold-Formed Metal Framing
Cold-formed metal framing is an excellent example of this transition. To create the frame for a wall or door similar techniques are used as when it is lumber construction but cold formed metal has some extra advantages.
Curtain Wall Framing
Curtain walls are walls of a structure designed to keep the elements out but not enhance the structural stability of a building. Many of the buildings you see with glass edifices are curtain walls. The walls themselves don’t provide structural support but they do protect the occupants from the outside.
Having a glass curtain wall makes the structure look much sleeker but the benefits do not end there. They also bring in the most natural light possible which can save on both heating and utility bills. Well designed curtain walls are very good at keeping air and moisture outside the building and the glass also acts as a fire stop between floors.
If you would like to have more light in your life then call a West Hartford carpentry specialist today.
Roof Trusses
Roof trusses are frameworks which contain triangular components to enhance structural stability. The reasons for the popularity of roof trusses are many:
- The flexible answer for a wide range of roof structures
- Trusses use up to 40% less material than traditional roof building techniques
- Since they are pre-fabricated you save on-site time and cost
- On-site space saving as there is no need for timber storage
- Trusses are able to accept a wide range of ceiling and roof coverings
Though we do use pre-fabricated trusses, as a company of professional carpenters Hancin Construction Llc can create custom trusses if our customers have unique ideas for their roofs.
Gypsum Board Assemblies
It is very important to have a competent gypsum worker. Otherwise it is possible that after time the nails from the drywall will start popping out through the paint. This problem won’t be visible until well after the construction is done; once the boards have a chance to shift and shrink a little. To get the best drywall assembly at the best price give us a call today.
Rough Carpentry Wood and Metal
Rough carpentry is the industry term for a framer. What a rough carpenter/framer does is create the basic skeleton of a structure. Though they are carpenters they do not only work with wood. Framing can be done with metal supports rather than wooden beams and a rough carpenter also needs to know how to work with concrete so that they can set certain frames.
Our rough carpenters have done framing for all sorts of structures. Homes and buildings we have decades of experience in but we have also built tunnels, bridges, sewer supports, scaffolding, concrete forms and billboard signs. We generally do residential and municipal construction projects but we have done commercial construction as well. Our team produces quality results at competitive pricing.
If you are looking to have a door installed in your residence or place of work then West Hartford carpenter, Hancin Construction LLC can get the job done, quickly and efficiently. Installing a door can be tricky business if the project deals with a loadbearing wall, so it pays to rely on a professional.
There are many different options for door creation. Depending on the traffic and available space it may be preferable to install slab, french, sliding or pocket doors. Hancin Construction Llc works with our customers to make sure that the door and its hardware meld into the surroundings perfectly. We will take you through all the possible looks and styles so get exactly what you’re looking for.
Trim Carpentry
Trim carpenters do ornamental woodwork. They create and install trim or molding for doors, windows, mantels, baseboards, and so on. Many carpentry companies don’t have an actual trim carpenter, that is, they have people who are good at installing trim but do not have the expertise to work wood into ornate trim or molding.
Hancin Construction Llc has a team of professional West Hartford trim carpenters who can create designs from scratch. However, as fellow West Hartford community members we understand that everyone has a different budget for their projects. If it is preferable for our customer’s budget we have pre-fabricated trim which we can install. If our customers are looking for an original look that they cannot find anywhere else we can create trim to fit the theme you wish the room to have.
Acoustic Treatments
We own many things that create noise pollution in our homes and office. Computers, fans, TVs, AC, telephones, and projectors create a relatively small amount of noise but noise nonetheless. Most of the time we get used to it and compensate for it without noticing; we have all had the experience of an AC unit turning off and only then realizing how much ambient noise it produced. But with West Hartford Carpentry’s acoustical treatments you can greatly reduce the noise pollution in almost any space.
With an array of different panels we have the noise solution for your space that won’t clash with the look. Acoustic panels are ideal for: offices, meeting rooms, multi-purpose rooms, auditoriums, churches, theaters, and classroom environments. Our panels absorb ambient noise making it much easier to hear the person speaking at the head of the room and even when on the phone. If you are interested in maximizing the acoustic quality in your space then contact Hancin Construction Llc to see all the possible options.
Acoustic Suspended Ceiling Systems
Suspended ceilings, or drop down ceilings, are a main stable in offices and government buildings. The reasons are many but primarily it is that suspended ceilings are fire resistant, absorb noise pollution, and it is an inexpensive way to conceal wiring, pipes and ventilation ducts. The other advantage to acoustical suspended ceilings is that they are easily removed to get access to the concealed systems and as suspended ceilings are done with panels, individual panels can be easily replaced so you don’t have to pay for a whole new ceiling.
There are many different patterns for suspended ceilings since the days of the traditional off-white fiberglass. Just as noise reducing as classic acoustical suspended ceiling systems, these colored versions can add much needed warmth to a drab, noise polluted space.
There are many advantages to both wood and metal ceilings. Wood ceilings, like wood floor or wood beams, can add a layer of warmth and comfort. They can be easily installed as they often come in a tongue and groove format so they interconnect like floorboards. Our West Hartford Carpenters can even custom detail your wood ceiling to a design of your choice.
Metal ceilings, besides adding a classic Victorian feel to a room, are very practical as they are more resilient than other ceiling options because they do not absorb moisture and are fire resistant. They come in many patterns and finishes and can be painted to match their surroundings. It is important to note that with advances in metal finishes our ceiling tiles require very little maintenance. It is often a concern of our customers that they will have to regularly polish the ceiling but our low maintenance metal ceilings are easily cleaned with an occasional dusting and wiping with a damp cloth.
